Many Progressives believe that sustained human exploration of the Moon and Mars will be valuable to our nation for the scientific learning, technological innovation, and international diplomatic benefits it can provide. However, most of us also want to see a clear departure from George W. Bush's "Vision for Space Exploration" because it is politicized, and because it pays no heed to the critical role that NASA plays in Earth System Science and global climate change research.
What would a new progressive space policy-- one that all Americans could not only support but be inspired by-- look like under a new Administration?

NASA better be putting up a sunshade around the earth by the end of the next Congress. If it isn't, then we won't need to worry much about anything else it's doing!
