Madam Speaker,

You and the rest of the members of congress took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States. When can we expect you to be accountable and do your job? When will you hold the current President accountable to the American Public for his administrations law breaking. When will you start acting as a co-equal branch of government and using your Constitutionally granted power to hold the President accountable? Why have you capitulated to the Republican Right to the complete dereliction of your responsibilities as Speaker? How do you ever expect another women to rise to the Speakership given the absolute incompetence you have demonstrated in the position? Do none of you understand that there are principles for which you are supposed to stand regardless of whether or not you think our corrupt Republican Senators will do their jobs and vote on the merits of the case? All of us in the Democratic Party are bitterly disappointed and ashamed by both you and Steny Hoyer. Please answer this fundamental question; when will you just go away so we can get a Speaker who will take the oath of office seriously and who believes in fundamental constitutional principles?
