Don't Ask, Don' Tell

My name is Jason Knight from San Diego California. I am a former Navy Linguist and was discharged under Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

Earlier this year, you intervened when the DOD refused to allow Representative Tammy Baldwin's partner join her on a flight because she was not considered a spouse. This event and your willingness to be outspoken has placed you in an important position to afford equality to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans - especially those that serve in our military.

What do you plan to do to see that Don't Ask, Don't Tell is finally repealed and what is your motivation in doing so?

Ok so I am not a homosexual but that does not mean that you don't have more or less the same rights as Citizen's as I do. I think perhaps the government took what they saw as 'the easiest way out' of that situation, don't you? Who has sex with who should not be a concern for the military AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT INFRINGE ON THE RIGHTS OF ALL PARTIES.

In other words, I speak it as I think it even if others don't like it. That is my right. I do not believe that any non-homosexual person should ever have to be confronted by this choice you have made. You should, especially in the public, not demonstrate anything with sexual conitations but in a private setting where others are not effected by your sexual preferences. Then it would be permittable.

No one should act lude in public. In the case of the Military I would not like a Homosexual male to be showering with my son or others sons who are not homosexuals. Just as there is a Womens' bathroom and a Mens (plus Bysexual one) none of us want to have someone eyeballing us and our body parts in a sexual way, it is just not appropreiate. The military does not want such incidents on their property. And neither do I. So if you 'keep it in private' and act accourdingly in public you can still try to be happy with you choices in private. 2. Thanks for the comments v but there is a lot about DADT that many do not understand. First is that there are allready gays and lesbians serving in our military, always have and always will.

The difficult thing is that the law mandates that someone is to be fired and removed from the military if they are found to be gay or lesbian. This can be from anything from a photo on myspace to a simple rumor. This has nothing to do with conduct and is ousting able bodied Servicemembers simply based on who they are. This law is unamerican and needs to be repealed.
