Madam Speaker,
The Washington Post reported this week that the federal government is so under-staffed with Inspector Generals that it would take more than 10 years to collect what's owed from fraudulent contracts, over-billing, non-performance, etc. To date ONLY $13 BILLION has been collected from contractors -- and that's not counting the BILLIONS Paul Bremer "misplaced" in Iraq.
The problem is obviously compounded by the sinking dollar, soaring budget deficit, worsening economy, unsafe products and mismanagement by our "MBA president" and his cronies.
Don't you think just might be time to concentrate on collecting some of those funds?
Also, since our retirement funds have tanked under this heckuva administration, might you look at letting us take tax LOSSES in our retirement accounts? Few of us have pensions and benefits like you fine folks in government and we, unlike DC, know -- or knew -- the value of a dollar.
The next time the Rethuglicans complain about the redistribution of wealth, you might note that the money's flowing from us to DC, China, Iraq, Halliburton, Enron, KKR, etc.
How about defending the Middle Class for a change before we become a real banana republic?
Sincerely,
Another Furious Whiner

I think we already are a banana republic. It's probably too late to save us from that fate. Ours is worse than most cause we have too much money & power. The entire world is not safe from us anymore.
