Speaker Pelosi,
Thanks for speaking out against loan guarantees for nuclear power. Unfortunately, these massive taxpayer based subsidies keep ending up in bills. Nuclear power is incredibly expensive and threatens to divert funding from energy efficiency and renewable energy, the clean safe energy solutions that exist today. What will you do to stop nuclear loan guarantees?
Nuclear plant licenses are now being sped through the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, mostly proposed for the southern US in areas that are poor and without the resources to fight. Green jobs are needed in these communities immediately, and funding for nuclear power should be halted immediately.
