Politicians and the media in America say solving Israel/Palestine is complicated. Yet every year the UN passes a resolution with virtual unanimity from every nation of the world excluding the USA and Israel. The resolution calls for a 2 state solution with Israel withdrawing to 67 borders, dismantling settlements, making East Jerusalem the capitol of Palestine, and making some settlement, financial or otherwise, for the refugees. Americans don't know that there is international consensus for this just solution. Instead, every year Israel appropriates more Palestinian land, builds more illegal settlements, etc with the blessing of the USA. Why can't we accept this fair solution like the rest of the world? Why doesn't the media report to us the views of the rest of the world on this critical issue?

Well John, it's because you get tarred with the brush of anti-semitism if you propose or agree with that solution. I completely agree with you and would take it one step further. Make all of Jerusalem an "international sanctuary city" and relocate the UN headquarters there. Have it policed by UN peace keeping forces and no weapons are allowed inside the city. Ever. Not even under cover of diplomatic immunity.
As to why the media doesn't report this: Well, it's complicated.
I really would like to see this in the top 10 questions. It is vitally important, and yet, most Americans are ignorant on this issue, taking what their pastors or AIPAC says to be the absolute truth. Been to Israel, seen the "settlements". A two state solution is the best solution. But perhaps we could give Utah to the Israelis...
What year did the UN start calling for a 2 state solution?
