For the building of the Transatlantic Tunnel to be a good idea, within how many decades must the amount paid to build the structure be earned? If it would cost 100 billion, 250 billion, 500 billion, 1 trillion, or 10 trillion dollars? Is that before, or once the structure if completed? Because 10s billions of dollars would most certainly be made every year. Maybe even 100 billion. How soon no more than?

THIS IS NOT TRUE! In my area of technology, I have been replaced twice by H1B visa holders. Even when one can find a new job, the foreign workers cause downward pressure on wages. It is a tragic turn of affairs when there is a slogan - "I'm in IT, so you know I'm broke." The situation is the same in the hard sciences. I know of one PhD in Chemistry who is recommending young people stay away from the sciences as that is a one-way ticket to unemployment. Madam Speaker, what are YOU going to do to reduce the number of these visas and put skilled American workers back to work?

What sort of things can Congress do to encourage more students to become engineers and other scientists to ensure our competitiveness in the upcoming decades?
Should the government be promoting -- through tax credits, small loans, and federal encouragement -- the installation of neighborhood and personal wind and solar energy systems? Could the federal government promote the installation of these systems on *every federal building* as a way to bring the costs down?
