Do you personally accept the fact that if drastic action is not taken soon to reduce carbon emissions the survival of the human race will be put at risk?

What percentage of lawmakers do you think are aware of this?

In regard to this issue, which is a bigger obstacle on capital hill: lack of education or lack of political will?

Get A Backbone

It is time to take back out country. No more lies. No more excuses. Impeach Bush and Cheney and charge the administration and those who were part of the process with war crimes, crimes against humanity, and do it now.

Protect our Constitution. Protect our Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. Do something right for the first time. Stop the war. Stop the war profiteering. Stop the gutting of our economy now.

Troop support

Republican talking heads tell us that if we put a bumper sticker made in China on the back of our SUV, then somehow we're supporting the troops. Meanwhile, thanks to Repuplican-sponsored budget bills, Congress continues to spend Billions of dollars a week in Iraq and Afghanistan. But if that's the case, why are our soldiers forced to beg for care packages that include such basic sundries as toothpaste, protein bars and ...more »

Don't Ask, Don' Tell

My name is Jason Knight from San Diego California. I am a former Navy Linguist and was discharged under Don't Ask, Don't Tell. Your personal accountability as the first female speaker of the US House of Representatives

By not following your oath of office and by not being forthright with the members of the Democratic base, you've opened yourself up to becoming the cause for Barack Obama to lose this election. Because we can't understand why this president is still in office when he should have been impeached for serious crimes, there are currently strong suspicions that you too are guilty of committing and covering-up crimes against ...more »

International Justice

Is the Speaker at all afraid that the international community will demand that the Bush administration must be tried for war crimes, including torture, renditions, kidnapping, etc., and that she could very well be implicated and even found guilty for her complicity? Or is it her opinion that if she continues to prevent any investigation or prosecution of Bush and his henchmen, they will be able to exonerate themselves ...more »

Clean Energy

First off, dont you think you should seriously consider impeachment? It would show other crooked republicans they cant get away with crime. Speaking of crime, what is the problem with solar? Its clean. We all know republicans are all about big OIL so maybe if you start with impeachment, it will show them we mean business. So my question would be: Since you promised the people when you got in office that you wouldnt ...more »

submitting questions/comments

I logged on for the first time to check out the questions for Speaker Pelosi. I just have a couple of comments for people submitting comments or questions on this site. I have learned a lot of interesting things in my many years on this planet. One is that someone is more likely to listen to you if you are courteous and respectful (unless it REALLY isn't warranted). Another is that no one will take you seriously if ...more »

Where does a Soldier and the Army fit into the next chapter of America?

Assuming Senator Obama is elected President and carries out his promise to withdraw Soldiers from Iraq within 16 months from his inauguration, where do I sit in July, 2010? How does a Democratic President with a Democratic House and Senate manage the economic concerns of an Army that returns from war? In other words, how do you as the Speaker plan to deal with veterans and active Army benefits, conflict management such ...more »

Clean Water Act & Energy

What will Congress do to end mountaintop removal coal mining, which is devestating communites and mountains in central Appalachia. Will you start by cosponsoring the Clean Water Protection Act, which would disallow coal companies from dumping millions of tons of toxic mining waste into valleys, many which are the headwaters of much of the eastern United States.

The Youth of America

There is an ancient Native American proverb that says "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children." What are your thoughts on how to improve a) our failing education system and b) the planet which we are growing up in? After all, we are the future.

Thank you!

What did you wish you'd know then?

Speaker Pelosi - As the first woman to take control of the gavel you broke a lot of barriers, but women in Congress, the Senate, in state governments and in corporate America are still struggling to make it to the top and through the maze of male-dominated management structures. What is your advice to young women who are beginning their careers? What lessons did you learn along the way that you wish you knew when you ...more »

Massive Spending Must End

Dear Ms. Speaker - Massive government spending on both social services and the military has continued under both Democrat and Republican administrations. The spending is out of control and threatening to break the back of the US economy, especially as we strive to maintain excellence in a world where other countries have far lower standards than ours. How can we help policy makers on both sides of the aisle stop spending ...more »
