VP Al Gore has called for the US to Abandon Fossil Fuels for energy production in the next decade. How are we going to accomplish this?

Given that the constitution calls for impeachment if high crimes or misdemeanors have been committed, and the current president has flouted constitutionally mandated checks and balances, why is impeachment off the table? How do you intend to not give him free reign if you remove one of the only constitutionally given ways of limiting a president's abuse of his authority?

Pelosi isn't corrupt. She is a politician, and a damn smart one at that. She can't bring this without the political movement to demand it.

It is our job to create a movement to force her to do what I believe she probably thinks is right.

For the ten year time-line Gore is talking about electricity generation, not transportation. For electricity generation, we already have solar, wind and some water/damning. The technology already exists, and, frankly, the push would create new jobs in the economy.

Nicholas Kristof wrote a terrific column on this on July 6th. I think it is well known enough (and this comment appeared after his column), that the question should reference his column, which shows the broad importance of this idea. http://www.wecansolveit.org/

Fundamentally, we need to move towards public financing with free air-time for candidates. Can that happen incrementally? Additionally, as we look at this issue, I think the distinction between soft money and hard money has perhaps outlived its usefulness. We can't restrict just money to candidates but not parties and 527s.
