We, the People, face quite serious challenges. Whether we are talking the financial deficit, the trade deficit, the deficit of goodwill globally, Peak Oil, the need to work hard to develop a sensible energy future, and so on for a very extensive list, do you think that the American political dialogue is preparing the American public for the challenges ahead?
As an example, in early 2006, you claimed that the Democratic Party had a plan to deliver lower gasoline prices. Those of us who followed energy knew that this was a promise that was impossible to deliver on, that the opportunity was to lower demand to constrain price growth rather than an ability to lower prices. Are we seeing similarly over optimistic promises now?
