Speaker Pelosi,

Recently, the Prime Ministers of Canada and Austraila have issued formal apologies to their indigenous communities for past atrocities at the hands of their federal governments. How do you feel about the current status of Native Americans and Inuit peoples in the United States? Have you seen a change in poverty rates, access to higher education, health care, etc... in your time in office? What can congress do to improve the quality of life for Indigenous communities, both on and off reservations? What can it do differently than it already has done?

Well, in this case, the Federal Government has treaties with these Indigenous Nations. So they do, in fact, have a mandate to uphold.

Along with better international train travel - the only access to Canada comes via Niagra Falls, yet hundreds commute every day from Michgian to Ontario and vice versa, via bridges congested with traffic. Why this hasn't happened yet befuddles me.
