A local congressman, who was elected in 2006, said he would co-sponsor HR676 once elected.. After going to Washington he changed his mind saying he was talked out of it by Nancy Pelosi.. She supposedly told him this country didn't need another entitlement..Maybe Mrs. Pelosi also feels this country doesn't need Medicare or Social Security either.. Both of these are "entitlements"..Over 18,000 Americans die every year because of for profit health insurance companies and I guess Mrs. Pelosi thinks that is OK..As long as our healthcare systme is based on for profit healthcare insurance companies nothing will change only get worse..It's ironic that in this last election,the congressman I'm referring to, Jason Altmire,UPMC health systms (a health insurer) was his top contributor..HR676 is the only solution to our healthcarecrisis but as long as our government is being bought and sold by health insurance companies,it will only be a dream!!
