Now that the House Judiciary Committe's held Karl Rove in contempt,
are you going to allow a floor vote? If not, why not?

Hundreds of thousands of people have signed -- and are still signing -- petitions protesting Rove's abuses, including the persecution of a Democratic
governor.

I'm sure you know people are refusing to contribute to the DNC until you act on
this. So what are you going to do?

No one is above the law. Tell the HJC that. Sign the petition.

They can find him on Fox News,

47,600+ have already signed the petition. Let's hope it helps strengthen the Democratic "leadership's" spine.

Madam Speaker,

The Washington Post reported this week that the federal government is so under-staffed with Inspector Generals that it would take more than 10 years to collect what's owed from fraudulent contracts, over-billing, non-performance, etc. To date ONLY $13 BILLION has been collected from contractors -- and that's not counting the BILLIONS Paul Bremer "misplaced" in Iraq.

The problem is obviously compounded by the sinking dollar, soaring budget deficit, worsening economy, unsafe products and mismanagement by our "MBA president" and his cronies.

Don't you think just might be time to concentrate on collecting some of those funds?

Also, since our retirement funds have tanked under this heckuva administration, might you look at letting us take tax LOSSES in our retirement accounts? Few of us have pensions and benefits like you fine folks in government and we, unlike DC, know -- or knew -- the value of a dollar.

The next time the Rethuglicans complain about the redistribution of wealth, you might note that the money's flowing from us to DC, China, Iraq, Halliburton, Enron, KKR, etc.

How about defending the Middle Class for a change before we become a real banana republic?

Sincerely,
Another Furious Whiner

Madam Speaker,

Re Rove's likely refusal to appear before the House tomorrow, it's been reported that your communications director Brendan Daly sent (Huffington Post) the following statement:

Those reports are completely untrue -- the Speaker has not urged the Judiciary Committee not to seek contempt charges against Karl Rove. The committee can seek a contempt citation if it decides to do so. (Fyi, Henry Waxman's Oversight Committee is looking at a contempt citation against the attorney general over documents. The Speaker has no objections to that -- it's the committee's decision.)

A source with the House Judiciary Committee also denied Pelosi was opposing contempt charges.
-----------------------------------------------------------

In view of your office's lukewarm statement, my question to you is do you SUPPORT contempt charges? Please elaborate. Extra points for your opinion of Rove's role in the prosecution of Dem. Gov. Siegelman-Alabama.

Any plans to help limit political hate speech like Fox's hate-spewing tirades and Swiftboat-type lies while letting McCain's Secret Service detail arrest the librarian for "trespassing" on public property with a sign saying McCain+Bush?

Maybe you could you also explain how we've ended up with "Free Speech" zones anyway? And why Karl Rove and his minions aren't in jail?

If not, why not?

This should be an interesting week.

Are you aware that more than 135,000 people have signed the petition to hold Rove in contempt of Congress and send him to jail. Do you know or care that your San Francisco constituents are very tired of your unresponsiveness? Do you realize that for it's a miracle to get that many people to sign a petition when so many more are totally disgusted / disillusioned with government?

It's about time for your to do your job. Call the Sgt of Arms and get Rove in jail. He's stolen elections, jailed Democratic governors and he's still pontificating hateful wedge issues on Fox. He's closed the Republican state conventions to the media. We can only image the newest round of dirty tricks he's conjuring up.

Go check out http://sendkarlrovetojail.com and read the comments, some from older people who've never written to a politician before. It's an education you obviously need instead of giggling on The Daily Show about empowering women when the Republicans are undermining women at every turn. Birth control = abortion? Start calling them on outrages like this.

Please sign the petition to the House Judiciary Committee to send Rove to jail. More than 47,000 people have signed. Let's hope it makes a dent in the spineless Democratic "leadership"

How about censuring them since you've taken impeachment off the table? Is there NO accountability?

How about censuring Rove, Myers, Bolton et al since you've taken impeachment and subpoenas off the table? Are you going to do NOTHING while they continue to violate the law and then laugh while they get away with everything?
